there's a farm on my windowsill

We have decided to try a new adventure of the agricultural persuasion. Our windowsill is now the home of zucchini, sweet bell pepper, chile pepper, hot pepper, poblano pepper, sweet basil, pepper pimienta, anaheim pepper, and green pepper plants. Once these puppies flower (...er, if they flower) I get to help pollinate by using a small paintbrush and going flower to flower, I am oddly excited by this fact. I am such a perv.

Report from day 1 and 2: Vegetation has survived a night of cohabitation with two very curious feline beasts!

If all goes well with this, and it looks like we can keep it up in the future, I am even considering setting up our own little mini-compost bin underneath our kitchen sink. Boy howdy!

pinwheel progress

It is a bit slow goings at this point, but at least I am halfway through!

The pinwheel quarters (not sure if that is a technical name, but no one reads this blog so who cares) are almost complete. The next step will be to press them and then sew them together into the pinwheel shapes. I hope that I have not screwed these pieces up in some way that I have not noticed yet...

singer

Hayden and I made a stop in to the Tacoma Goodwill today to try and snag a cheap bike for him and, low and behold, we found this! A beautiful old singer inside of a desk. I am going to look into fixing it up, but even if that doesn't end up happening, at least it's pretty to look at.
We still are looking for a bicycle for Hayden.

i slack, therefore I am

Well, this blog has a few cobwebs! I have not been very crafty as of the past few months. I plan on changing that shortly.
More to come...and soon.
